Houseboat Online Literary Journal

There aren't enough artistic outlets that truly cross boundaries. Houseboat is making its contribution to that endeavor. It's quite new. We started the ball rolling with photographs and poems inspired by them. By now we have poetry pages and featured poets as well as guest photographers and artists. We also want to explore music, sculpture, short fiction, and other forms of human expression, focusing on the relationship between them.

We seek original submissions from you, our readers. Go to 'Submissions' and see whether your work fits in here somewhere.

Important note: all works on this blog are owned by their respective creators. If you want to use something from this site, ask. Tell us what it's for and you'll probably be given access. If you submit, and are accepted, and later want to submit elsewhere, tell us. We will gladly accommodate the rules for your targeted journal or other vehicle. We aren't here to constrict you.

If you want to be a 'Featured poet', please send between 8 and 15 of your poems for the team to read and decide. Add a photo of yourself and a short bio. There is also a space for flash fiction or prose poems or poetic paragraphs, whatever you want to call it. We do accept previously published poems, as long as you tell us where they’ve been published.
