On the Premises: 21 UP!
http://onthepremises.com/current_contest.html

“On The Premises” magazine is celebrating our first seven years with a special premise. For this contest only, send us a short story based on ANY of the previous 21 premises. To see a list of past premises, go to out past issues page. (http://www.onthepremises.com/Issues.html)

Your challenge: In at least 1,000 but no more than 5,000 words, write a creative, compelling, and well-crafted story that is clearly built around one of our previous 21 premises. If you have questions, ask us at Questions@OnThePremises.com .

Deadline: 11:59 PM Eastern Time, Friday, January 31, 2014.

Stories that make the final round of judging, and do not get published, get critiqued for free if the author would like that. However, we’ll critique any contest entry for $15.

Want to see what a critique looks like? Here a real critique http://www.onthepremises.com/resources/About-the-Contests/Critiques/Protector-crit.pdf one of our contestants allowed us to publish as an example.
And here's the story http://www.onthepremises.com/issue_11/story_11_g1.html we helped him turn his originally rejected contest entry into.

1st prize: $187, 2nd prize: $147, 3rd prize: $107, Honorable mention: $47

There is no fee for entering the contest.
