On the Premises Mini-Contest #32: Propinquity

On the Premises Mini-Contest #32: Propinquity

Propinquity is such a clumsy and unusual word! For this mini-contest, we dare you to show, tell, or evoke a complete story in no more than 40 words, exactly ONE of which is “propinquity.” Use it well, contestants–no fair writing a story about a spelling bee where someone has to spell it, for instance.

Deadline: 11:59 PM Eastern US time, Friday, December 2, 2016.
Length: Maximum of 40 words.
Hyphenated Words: If the hyphenated word is generally considered a single word, it counts as one word. (Like “twenty-five” or “jack-o-lantern.”) Otherwise each part of the hyphenated word counts separately.
Prizes: $25 for first place, $15 for second, $10 for third. Honorable mentions get published but make no money.

One entry per author. There is no fee for entering this contest.
