Permanent Vacation: Volume 2
Bona Fide
Books seeks literary essays for a collection about life and work in our
national parks. In Volume 1, we read tales of grizzly encounters and streaking
through Denali, personal relationships with
temperamental elk in Yellowstone, and on finding beauty in housekeeping in Yosemite National Park. Now, we seek more of those
stories from the national parks. Whether you spent your time building trails or
alligator-proofing your cabin, we would love to read your experiences, cerebral
and corporeal alike. From Haleakala to the Everglades, we want to hear the tree-hugging
epiphanies and vocational escapades. What happened there? How did you get
hooked? What keeps you coming back?"
Pays:
"Each writer whose work is selected will receive $100 for their essay and
one copy of the collection, which will publish in spring 2018."
Deadline: December 1, 2017.
