San Francisco Writers Conference Contest
 
We are looking for great writing! The writing contest sponsored by the San Francisco Writers Conference is open to writers worldwide in four categories: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s books/young adult.
 
Writers may enter up to the first 1500 words of an unpublished or self-published flash fiction collection short story, novella, novel, nonfiction essay or collection or essays, nonfiction book, children’s book (including young adult/teen) or poems. You may enter more than once in a category and in more than one category. The winners will be announced at the 2015 San Francisco Writers Conference.
 
The Grand Prize: The best entry overall will be awarded $500 and a half-hour consultation with an agent working in the winner’s genre.
First-place: Winners in each category will be awarded $100.
Finalists: Recognition! This contest is sponsored by SFWC, a nationally recognized conference. A finalist can, and should, mention their finalist award in query letters to agents and publishers.
Entry fee: $35 per entry
Deadline: January 5, 2015
