Writers,
Evangelism is a tricky business, for sure. Jesus tells us to go and make disciples, yet in today’s world, Christians attempting to share their faith are often met with skepticism and resentment. Still, we know that God seeks the heart of every individual. How can we nudge our non-believing friends toward the waiting arms of the Savior?
For an upcoming issue of Thriving Family, I’m looking for examples of “soft evangelism.” By “soft” evangelism, I mean times when you and your children have created moments of opportunity for your non-believing friends to recognize that God is real, that He loves them and has a plan for their lives.* Often, this happens when we become the hands and feet of Christ, when we serve others without necessarily preaching the gospel to them. Other times, it happens when we create a family environment where the reality of God is made clear. I think back to my own childhood, when my good friend’s mom would invite me to join her family for trips to the aquarium or the apple orchard. I first came to know God as Creation’s master artist.
Each article (true-life narrative) should be written to parents of pre-teen/tween children (8- to -12-year-olds). Articles should be written in first person and have practical ideas for our readers. Please no third-person perspectives this time.
